Hey, how many Charlie Flighters are planning on the 6913th reunion in Las Vegas? Ruth and I will be there and we're looking forward to seeing more Charlie Flight people there.

Who did you leave the messages with? The squadron elected Sacramento, Ca to be the 2008 reunion site. Bert "Frenchie" Fortier was elected as Reunion Committee Chairperson as he lives in Sacramento.

i checked in on wed nov 8 and asked the management department on the second floor for info and was told they had none. i left a message on gary chaika's room phone on wed and thur and received an apology call on friday afternoon without any comment. when i resigned as chairman i stated that i was not flying across the country to spend $50 on a chicken dinner. i would have enjoyed visiting the hospitality room but was unaware of it's location. i had forwarded all my email info to gary. a fellow, not frenchie, had sent a great proposal to have the reunion in sacramento and i also forwarded that information. i no longer have his name. hooch

has anyone given any thought to a proposal posted earlier this year to have a reunion in bremerhave? it was proposed for this year, but now that the 6913th's is over, perhaps there is interest for 2007. i would be interested. hooch mc gonigal

Hooch, both Ruth and I would love to go to Bremerhaven, but it is just too expensive for us to handle. Retired, fixed income, you know the drill.

My wife and I would love to go, but, from the pictures I've seen, the base has changed so much we wouldn't recognize it. Since I would want to show the wife where we lived and worked, it kind of takes the purpose to the trip away. Expensive too.:-)

J.D. - - - - Having visited Bremerhaven in September of 2005, I am one of several who can attest to the fact that "everything has changed." However, I would gladly return in the next year or two if the Charlie Flight group would be organizing a reunion to be held there. I thoroughly enjoyed the San Antonio reunion, but I sense actually being "on site" in Bremerhaven and the surrounding area would add a degree of excitement and pleasure that we as a group will be unable to match when holding reunions anywhere else. Bennie Wehmeyer and his wife Marion happened to be visiting there at the same time I was, and that made my time around there better than if they hadn't been there to share some old stories. (and speaking of old stories, you should have been there to defend yourlself!!)

I'm in hopes that Jim, with some of our help, will keep this site open and the number of Charlie Flight participants over the next year will increase considerably and a big time "Roll Call" gets scheduled for Bremerhaven at some point in the future!!

I'm just a novice on this website, but I hope that this posting will illicit some responses from the membership and a lot of folks will share thoughts and ideas.....I gotta go for now, it is time for the Super Bowl. ;-)
